Las Vegas Attractions Outside Of The Casinos

A trip to Las Vegas doesn’t have to be all about gambling and the casinos.  There are a lot of adventurous and scenic excursions you can take to experience Las Vegas from a different perspective.

For starters, you can take a 30 mile ride to see Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam.  This National Historic Landmark and architectural masterpiece is really something to see.  Just the massive size alone will have you wondering how something like this was actually created and that make for an interesting story itself and will be a piece of American history forever.  You can also rent a boat  for the day and/or some jet skies and head out on the lake for a complete day of entertainment.

35 miles northeast of Las Vegas you can find Mount Charleston. This is a great getaway for tourists and Las Vegas locals alike, all year round.  Mount Charleston offers skiing, camping, lodging and plenty of trails to go hiking.  You can head up there for the day and enjoy a picnic and a nice stroll through the scenic trails of nature.

To the west of Las Vegas, about 15 miles away, you will find Red Rock Canyon, which is a National Conservation Area. There is one main road that loops around the entire area, 13 miles in length, and will provide you with plenty of scenic views and stop-off points to allow you access to the many hiking trails and other activities in the area. Some of the best activities include rock climbing, hiking and camping. The natural beauty and scenic views at Red Rock are spectacular.

Those are the top three attractions in Las Vegas outside of the casinos, however there are plenty more to see and do too. Just decide what your interests are and desires and I am sure you can find it in the surrounding Vegas area.

588-New-York-New-YorkOne of the greatest things about Las Vegas is that you can virtually experience the entire world all in one location.  If you don’t have the means to travel to all the top city and country destinations, just book a trip to Vegas and you can get  feel for what the world has to offer.

You can visit the Paris Hotel and Casino to experience  replicas of the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Paris Opera House just to name a few.  You can walk down the cobblestone walkways and visit the boutiques, buy Paris souvenirs, and enjoy some French cuisine.

The New York, New York Casino starts with an incredible replica of the New York City Skyline and the Statue of Liberty on the outside and progresses to the New York style shops and restaurants on the inside.

For a taste of Italy, venture down to the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino and be sure to take a ride through the Grand Canal on a romantic gondola. The entire resort is designed to give you the authentic taste of Venice.

Caesars Palace will provide you with a look into Greece and the Roman Empire.  This is one of the original luxurious themed casinos in Las Vegas and offers a great variety of entertainment and history for all to enjoy.

There are plenty of other themes in Las Vegas too, such as Circuses, Tropical Destinations and Medieval tributes that will surely entertain anyone and everyone that visits. No matter what you what to do and see on your next vacation, rest assured it will be available in Las Vegas.

3 Cool Things To Do In Las Vegas

588-Caesars-PalaceA vacation to Las Vegas has the potential to satisfy all of your entertainment and adventurous desires.  While the biggest attraction is probably the gambling aspect of Vegas, there are thousands of additional attractions to make the trip a memorable one. Here is  our list of 3 cool things to do in Las Vegas:

  1. Tour The Las Vegas Strip – Take a long walk up and down The Strip (or ride if need be) and take in the amazing sites and entertainment presented to you.  Night time is usually the best time to take this venture as all the hotels and casinos are well decorated with neon lights that really light up the sky when the sun goes down.  You will be able to see all the amazing casinos, take in a show or two (I highly recommend the Fountains of Bellagio), do some shopping for souvenirs and just enjoy people watching as thousands of tourists will also be taking this stroll.
  2. Check Out The Fremont Street Experience – Downtown Las Vegas is the classic, old style Vegas and now plays host to the Fremont Street Experience.  Again, this area is best viewed at night.  As you walk down the outdoor walkways, between all the downtown casinos, you will notice a canopy of sorts above your heads.  It is there you will see one of the coolest light shows enhanced with lively music that will surely energize you and lift your spirits.
  3. The Shark Reef - Inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino you will find the Shark Reek, which is a tour of a 1.6 million gallon saltwater aquarium filled with several types of sharks, rays, turtles, crocodiles and many other interesting sea creatures.  This is a great attraction and something fun for the entire family.
